As both an attorney and a CPA with a passion for solving complex problems and a desire for helping people plan for the future and minimize taxes, it was natural for me to establish a career in estate and tax planning. Taxation is a common thread that runs through most personal and business financial matters and it has provided me with a special perspective in dealing with clients’ concerns. Insights I gain through solving a problem for one transaction often lead to discovering innovative solutions for another.
I earned my Juris Doctor in 1976 at the University Of Southern California School Of Law, passed the California Bar exam in 1976 and passed the CPA exam in 1978. My Bachelor’s degree was in a double major of Accounting and Finance, also from USC, where I graduated cum laude. Prior to opening my own practice in Manhattan Beach in 1985, my professional experience included 5 years as Co-Founder and Managing Partner in a Santa Monica based law firm which was preceded by 2 years with a (then) “Big 8” public accounting firm in Los Angeles.
The close knit community of Manhattan Beach was our home for more than 20 years. It was there that I established my law practice, raised a family and proudly served as President of both the Manhattan Beach Chamber of Commerce and Kiwanis Club of Manhattan Beach. In 2006 my wife and I were drawn to the urban high-rise lifestyle of downtown Long Beach and in 2007 we opened our downtown Long Beach law office. We retain our strong ties, friendships and professional associations in Manhattan Beach and as a convenience to our clients, we also maintain a Manhattan Beach office.
My primary goal is to provide quality, cost-effective legal strategies uniquely tailored to the individual needs of each client and to create long standing attorney-client relationships based on personal and attentive service, loyalty and trust.
